Greddys – Smart Nutrition & Healthy Living App

 

Timeline and Scope

Greddys is a mobile application designed to support people in improving their nutrition and overall health. The app connects users with healthy food options in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and generates personalized recipes based on each individual’s goals for calories, proteins, and vitamins. The project focused on delivering a practical, easy-to-use MVP that merges food discovery with tailored nutrition guidance.

Context & Motivation

The motivation behind Greddys was the growing demand for accessible healthy eating solutions in urban areas. Many users struggle to find reliable places that sell nutritious meals or to keep track of their nutritional goals. Greddys bridges this gap by offering location-based recommendations and AI-driven recipe suggestions, helping users achieve their health targets without sacrificing convenience.

Process & Workflow

 

    • Feature Definition
      Core features included:

       

        • Map-based search for healthy food spots in Santo Domingo.

        • Recipe generator aligned with user goals.

        • User profile to track calories, proteins, and vitamins.

        • Filtering options for dietary preferences (vegan, low-carb, high-protein, etc.).

    • User Flows & Wireframes
      Flows were designed around the two main journeys:

       

        1. Finding nearby healthy restaurants/shops.

        1. Receiving customized recipes based on nutrition needs.
          Early wireframes focused on simplicity, ensuring that navigation between these two paths was clear and intuitive.

    • Main Challenge
      The challenge was balancing location-based recommendations with personalized data-driven recipes, while keeping the experience lightweight and friendly. The solution was to build modular navigation that connects both features seamlessly.

 

Visual Design

Greddys was designed to feel fresh, vibrant, and motivating, aligning with the theme of health and wellness.

 

    • Color Palette:

       

        • Green tones to symbolize health, nature, and freshness.

        • White backgrounds for clarity and clean readability.

        • Accent colors (orange/yellow) to highlight calls to action and positive progress.

    • Design Principles:

       

        • Friendly, approachable UI with rounded components.

        • Emphasis on readable nutrition data through clean typography and iconography.

        • Integration of maps and recipe cards in a visually engaging way.

Outcome & Impact

The MVP allowed users in Santo Domingo to easily discover healthy food options nearby, while also receiving personalized recipe suggestions tailored to their fitness goals. Early testers highlighted the app’s practicality, intuitive design, and motivational feel. Greddys sets the foundation for future expansions such as meal planning, in-app food delivery, and community-driven nutrition challenges.
